Couldock, C. W.
(1815-1898)
   Born Charles Walter Couldock in London, England, he established himself as a leading man there, then made his American debut in 1849 at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre in support of Charlotte Cushman. He toured extensively as a star in tragedies. In his later years, he moved to character roles, notably the heavy father in Hazel Kirke (1880).
